FSU Self-screening for PTSD and More

PTSD self-assessments are a valuable tool for recognizing when you may need help. PTSD assessments should be performed periodically to detect changes in your mental health, as one good score does not mean you are good for life. Please take the time to take this four question PTSD self-screen.

In your life, have you ever had any experience that was so frightening, horrible, or upsetting that, in the past month that

  1. You have had nightmares about it or thought about it when you did not want to?
  2. You tried hard not to think about it or went out of your way to avoid situations that reminded you of it?
  3. You were constantly on guard, watchful, or easily startled?
  4. You felt numb or detached from others, activities, or your surroundings?*
If you answer “yes” to any three items, you should consider seeing a doctor for an assessment.*
